Medical School

Schooling is always a hard thing to decide on and that goes the same for most people; One of the hardest things to choose though is the Medical School that you want to go to, if that is the path that you want to go down.

Always one thing that I look at is the most known and ranked and then cost and all that goes with it.
Here are the top 10 Medical Schools and the tuition (including books, room and board and credits):
  1. Johns Hopkins University (~$62,000+)
  2. Washington University in St. Louis (~$64,000+)
  3. Stanford University (~$57,000+)
  4. Baylor College of Medicine (~$33,000+ (out of state) ~$20,000+ (in state))
  5. Harvard University (~$78,000+)
  6. University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center--Dallas (~$36,000 +(out of state) ~$21,000+ (in state))
  7. University of California--San Diego (~$47,000+ (out of state) ~$24,000+ (in state))
  8. University of Pennsylvania (~$56,000+)
  9. Yale University (~$53,000+)
  10. Duke University (~$60,000+)
Now most will find that if you want to go to Medical School it will cost quite a bit each year and these do not have to be the schools that you have to go to but they are some of the best.

Just remember that you pay for the education that you want!

But there are always plenty of options and ways that you can go to a great school such as grants, scholarships and loans; you will find that most of these schools will offer them to you.

There is always more information that you can find out about these colleges and many more on their own websites.

What can someone expect as a Doctor?

There are endless amounts of possibilities that go along with becoming a doctor. Someone has to go through many years of education, training and testing; just to get to that point in life where you actually become a doctor and start doing what you want to do.

Here are a few key and important things to remember and be prepared for as you start down your path:
  • Be prepared to ask and receive hard questions
  • Medical school is tricky to get into; make sure that you are ready for the application, interview, stress, etc.
  • After someone graduates from Medical School, it doesn't make them a doctor; there are still many things to think about:
    • testing
    • training
    • working long and hard hours
  • Always be prepared to give it your all and be determined in what you do
  • Study for tests and know your materials
If you do these things I know that becoming a doctor will become a lot easier and help you get the respect that you deserve
